We moved to Rye in November 2018, relocating both our home and London shop to the centre of Rye. Rye is a beautiful place to visit with cobbled streets and hidden passages which can seem a little bit confusing when you're looking for somewhere to eat! In short, you really can't go wrong with places to eat in Rye with most, if not all, being independently run. You can find everything from the fish 'n' chip classics to fine dining and international dishes.

tip: can get busy in summer so book your table earlier in the day.

A large traditional pub offering a wide choice of pub favourites with a home cooked flair. Located near the historic landgate.

8. Late night eating in Rye

Some of the above restaurants are open late (until 9pm or 10pm). Anytime after this, head to Rye Grill which shuts around 1am on some nights.

 

 

9. Places to eat Lunch in Rye

Most places above are open for lunch including lighter lunch options. You can also try Mermaid Cafe and Sarah’s homemade scotch eggs or The Cornish Bakery for a wide variety of freshly baked goods plus (our regular) The Bakery at 89 for ready made sandwiches, donuts and other pastries to takeaway.
